BSCS Executive Director Janet Carlson was interviewed recently for a Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper article in which local science education proponents discussed plans for a Colorado Springs Science Center Project (CSSCP) that is gaining traction in the city.

BSCS Executive Director Janet Carlson is a founding director of CSSCP, a collaborative, community-engaged initiative to build a science and technology center in Colorado Springs that stimulates and inspires the inquisitive mind.

BSCS was also featured in the Gazette (9 Feb 2013) as recipient of a $20,000 grant from The Richard Petretiz Foundation. The grant helps fund the NABT-BSCS AP Biology Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy is supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Pearson Foundation, and the Richard Petritz Foundation.
