  • Project to support undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines who commit to teaching in high-need schools
  • Funding source: National Science Foundation (NSF), subcontract from CSU, 2011-2016

BSCS is providing external evaluation of the Noyce Scholarship program, which focuses on high-performing undergraduate students in STEM disciplines who commit to teaching in high-need schools. These students are identified and provided with Noyce Scholarships to support their junior and senior college years. The students are also provided with mentors from STEM areas while student teaching in Alliance schools, and professional development and networking during their first two years of teaching.

Data collection began with documenting recruitment efforts for the project. Full-scale evaluation activities began with the preservice scholarship recruits in spring 2011.
