Jody Bintz joined BSCS as a Science Educator in June 2004. She is currently leading work with a number of school districts to develop leadership capacity and improve the coherence of science curriculum, instruction, and assessment. She is also a member of the STeLLA PD Leader Team and is working with fourth and fifth grade study groups in the Denver metro area to analyze practice through the STeLLA Student Thinking and Science Content Storyline Lenses using video and student work.

Prior to joining BSCS, Jody served as an instructional services consultant with Loess Hills Area Education Agency, 13. Her responsibilities included school improvement and professional development planning and serving on the Iowa Support Team for Schools in Need of Improvement. Prior to her more general work with districts, she served as a science education consultant and worked with teachers to integrate technology, align curriculum, instruction, and assessment with standards and benchmarks, create more inquiry-based classrooms, and incorporate literacy strategies. Jody also taught high school science.

She received a B.A. in Biology and a M.S. in Science Education from the University of Northern Iowa. Jody and her family live near Treynor, Iowa.
